Navigation That Speaks Your Language: BM, 中文 and தமிழ்
LAPAN Nav's screens and its voice come in all four of Malaysia's main languages. Pick yours in Settings and change it any time: the whole app follows, voice included.

What the Voice Says
- Bahasa Melayu: “Di lampu isyarat kedua, belok kiri masuk Jalan Ipoh.”
- English: “At the second traffic light, turn left onto Jalan Ipoh.”
- Exits and roundabouts: “Dalam 200 meter, di bulatan, ambil susur keluar ke-2 ke Jalan Ampang.”
Made for How Malaysians Talk
- Road and place names are said as they're signed (Jalan Ipoh, Lebuhraya Persekutuan), in every language.
- Distances are rounded the way people say them: “in 300 metres”, “in 1.5 kilometres”.
- Turns can be placed by traffic lights (“at the second traffic light”) instead of metres.
- A natural, human-sounding voice in each language, with the phone's own voice as the backup.
- This website, the reports, Settings and Report a problem are in all four languages too.
Questions Drivers Ask
How do I change the language?
In LAPAN Nav, open Settings and choose Language. The screens and the voice change together.
Can the screen be in one language and the voice in another?
The app keeps them together, so what you see matches what you hear.
Does the Tamil voice work on every phone?
Yes. LAPAN Nav brings its own natural voice, so you don't need a Tamil voice installed on your phone while you have a connection. The phrases for your route are kept on the phone for signal gaps.
