Tried TuJu? Here's a Free Malaysian App for Every Road
TuJu is the highway app from the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM), with toll estimates, highway CCTV and R&R info. If you also want turn-by-turn directions from your taman to the tol and back, LAPAN Nav is a free navigation app made in Malaysia. It opens in your phone's browser, so you can try it in a minute and keep TuJu too.

What LAPAN Nav Does on Every Road
- Turn-by-turn, door to door. Voice and on-screen directions on town roads and highways, with the lane to take at junctions.
- Live traffic. Car routes use live traffic, and LAPAN Nav offers a faster route when one turns up.
- Reports from fellow drivers. Jams, police, crashes, floods, road closures and speed cameras, warned before you get there.
- Toll fares in RM. The fare for your route, plaza by plaza, at car or motorcycle rates. See toll fares by highway.
- R&R and petrol on the way. Search along your route for petrol, food, parking, EV charging and R&R. See R&R on the main expressways.
- Motorcycle routes. Choose Motorcycle and the route keeps off roads where motorcycles aren't allowed.
- Your language. The app and the voice in Bahasa Melayu, English, 中文 and தமிழ்.
TuJu and LAPAN Nav
TuJu was launched by LLM in November 2025 for highway drivers. LAPAN Nav is an independent app by Leslie Chan, a one-person Malaysian company with no outside funding, and is not connected with the government, LLM or TuJu. Many drivers use more than one app: try LAPAN Nav and keep whatever already works for you.
What It Can't Do Yet
- No Android Auto or Apple CarPlay: LAPAN Nav is a web app, so use a phone holder.
- The voice stops when the screen locks or another app is in front. LAPAN Nav keeps the screen on while it's open.
- No offline map download yet. Your current route keeps working through short signal gaps.
- Speed cameras are the ones drivers have reported; there is no pre-loaded camera list yet.
