What Drivers Can Report
- Police: visible, hidden, or on the other side of the road.
- Roadblocks: JPJ or police.
- Speed cameras: fixed, average-speed and red-light cameras.
- Crashes and jams: minor or major crashes; moderate, heavy or standstill traffic.
- Hazards: objects on the road, potholes, a stopped vehicle, oil, fog, heavy rain and floods.
- Road closures and blocked lanes, plus bumps, sharp bends and school zones.
How the Warnings Work
- You're warned about 500 metres before police, a speed camera or a hazard, and about 800 metres before a roadblock, a closure or a jam.
- Reports fade by themselves: police after about an hour, roadblocks after about 90 minutes, a reported speed camera after months.
- Drivers who pass are asked, at a safe moment, whether it's still there. A “yes” keeps the report longer; a few “no” answers remove it.
- Your speed limit is on screen, with a chime when you go over it, also when you drive without a destination.
- Want the warnings without directions? Alerts-only voice keeps the warnings and stays quiet about turns.
Honest Limits
- Alerts are only as good as the number of drivers reporting. LAPAN Nav is new, so some roads are still quiet.
- Speed cameras are the ones drivers have reported. There is no pre-loaded official camera list yet.
- These alerts are there to help you drive safely and keep to the limit, not to dodge the law.
Questions Drivers Ask
Do I need an account to report?
No. You can report without signing in. With an account you also earn points.
Can I report while driving?
One tap on Report, then one tap on the type. If you have a passenger, let them do it.
Does LAPAN Nav know where I live?
No. The start and end of every trip are never sent with traffic data, and a report only carries where it is and when. See the Privacy Notice.
